Thanks Ian. Went to this tree where I usually find a Red-tailed Hawk, got real lucky and found this instead.

where did you find this one? Just wondering since I haven't seen any bald eagles yet this year. Going to try again this week.

Croton Point, spotted this one near the visitors center at the north end. Spotted her again at the south end a little later. I was there 3 days in row, this was my only sighting. Will try again soon.

Hi Rime,
I just came across your photos and think they're great. I'm hoping to get my kids interested in birds in the next few years. I hope to start with sketches.
Are you using the Nikon 300 f2.8? What aperture do you set? I'm kinda curious!
cheers

Hi Alpinevisions, Thanks for the comments. Yes it's the 300 f2.8. I'm using it with a 1.4 teleconverter. I usually have the aperture at 6.3 for larger flying birds and 5 or 5.6 for small stationary birds.

Rime, you set the bar for bird photographs. They are so beautiful! This eagle is extraordinary.

Westchester NY, they winter on the Hudson River, usually between Dec. and March. Can see quite a few on a good day.
