A scan from an old slide I took in 1986. If you look closely you can find two pairs of climbers following us on the ridge. I returned to the area this summer: this is the same ridge in profile, and from a more humble location. And so is this, from the opposite side.

Well, really the opposite. The centre of this stairwell was lit by sodium lights, and when correcting the white balance for that, daylight turns a pretty blue. View Big
